BE AN AFRICAN QUEEN

This Swahili-style boutique hideaway is nestled in between a sacred forest and sugar-white dunes in a tranquil setting In Mombasa, Kenya.

Kinondo Kwetu is situated on a peaceful beachfront. Due to a high cliff separating it from the main stretch of Diani Beach, there are no beach boys or crowd to disturb the tranquilly. The surrounding holy woodland is preserved by the National Museum, which has designated the region as sacred 'kaya' territory.

The hotel is quiet and has a homey feel to it; it is family-owned and operated, and the Swedish owners live on site with their children, so service is kind and personalised.

Rooms

Rooms are spread around the shaded gardens and are each uniquely designed, but they all have a classic Swahili feel to them, with cool white-washed walls and hand-carved furnishings. The thatched cottages are perfect for couples, while the villas' layout offers more flexibility. Each villa is made up of several rooms and suites that may be booked individually or in groups; interconnected rooms and a family cottage cater to families with young children. Some rooms feature a balcony or terrace with a view of the sea.

“The rooms were lovely decorated with a beautiful African vibe. However, the only time we spent in the room was when we slept. this is a place to spend your time in its fantastic outdoors.
