TREK WITH THE GORILLAS AT KWITONDA

Singita Kwitonda Lodge's unrivalled location directly on the border of Rwanda's Volcanoes National Park, where more than a third of the surviving mountain gorillas live, makes it possible to easily access life-altering gorilla trekking adventures. Eight opulent rooms, each with an own heated plunge pool, health centre, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, and enormous timber-framed windows that let in stunning views of the surrounding landscape and volcanoes.

KWITONDA

The lodge was designed in response to its dramatic surroundings and features hand-fired terracotta brickwork and woven ceilings made by local artisans. Additional amenities include an on-site nursery and vegetable garden that supply fresh produce for Kwitonda's farm-to-table food journey and a dedicated Conservation Room. The lodge surrounds visitors in a haven of warmth, calm, and seclusion, giving them a nurturing area to reflect on their interactions with the magnificent "gentle giants of the forest."

The only resort in such close vicinity to Volcanoes National Park is Kwitonda Lodge, which is situated on 178 acres and has the name of a famed silverback gorilla.

What to do

Farm-to-Table Garden

The farm-to-table vegetable garden in Singita Volcanoes National Park is beautiful to see and is stocked with the finest Rwandan flavours. The crops are a visual feast, with everything from colourful carrots to crisp green rocket capturing the eye and titillating taste senses. They inspire the healthful recipes on their scrumptious menus.

Gorilla Trekking

Gorilla Trekking

One of the most valued experiences for tourists lured to the continent's unadulterated natural beauty is venturing into the foggy highlands of Rwanda to get up close and personal with the region's mountain gorillas.

Singita Kwitonda Lodge and Kataza House share a 1.2 kilometre boundary with Volcanoes National Park, enhancing the experience and being situated right on the edge of the Park.

The whole trekking experience is designed to maximise every opportunity, from the night before the trek's pre-trek briefing sessions in the lodge's Conservation Room to the free gear provided by the nearby Gear Room.

Wellness

Wellness

When visitors immerse themselves in one of the most amazing natural settings in the world, a stay at Singita Kwitonda Lodge is bound to inspire a sense of self-discovery and introspection.

Kwitonda offers many opportunities for retreat, relaxation, and introspection since the lodge infuses its guests with a sense of calm, serenity, and tranquillity. The nurturing, warmth, and rejuvenation provided by warm fires, peaceful surroundings, nutritious cuisine, yoga, meditation, massages, soft lighting, and warm baths let visitors connect with nature in a manner they have never done before.

The urban-weary visitors may discover the African culture while also re-connecting with nature and their senses thanks to the Singita wellness concept.

Wine Experience

Singita is known as one of Africa's most significant wine collectors. With a large cellar showcasing a premium selection of wines, including some of the continent's most sought-after private reserves, including exclusive release, limited single vineyard, and rare auction wines, Singita has become one of the continent's most influential wine collectors. It's reasonable to assume that a crucial component of the distinctive Singita experience is wine.

Many accolades for quality, including the top Diners' Club Wine List honour, have been bestowed to the Singita wine list, in addition to recognition from a huge number of other national and international organisations.

As the director of Singita Premier Wine, François Rautenbach oversees the selection, acquisition, storage, and servicing of all the wines at Singita's lodges. He is accountable for this perfection.
