Where to go
The Metropolitan Museum of Art
Over 5,000 years of international art are on display at The Met for visitors to discover and admire. The Met Fifth Avenue and The Met Cloisters, two renowned locations in New York City, are home to The Museum. Millions of people participate in The Met online as well.
Since it was established in 1870, The Met has aimed to be more than just a collection of priceless artefacts. Every day, the Museum's galleries, exhibitions, and activities bring art to life, revealing fresh insights and surprising connections across time and cultures.
To link all people to creativity, knowledge, ideas, and one another, the Metropolitan Museum of Art gathers, examines, preserves, and exhibits outstanding works of art from all eras and cultures.
Chinatown night market
Join Think!Chinatown for their summer series of music, art, and food at the Manhattan Bridge's recognisable entrance. This outdoor cultural festival offers local cuisine and art vendors as well as programming with a Chinatown theme.
Folk artists that specialise in traditional crafts including paper cutting art, sugar painting, and braided straw figures will display and sell their creations.
The community can come together, celebrate, and reclaim a safe space in the public sphere at the Chinatown Night Market. Five Friday night market dates are scheduled for summer.
ARTECHOUSE
Their goal is to push the envelope of what is possible and to pique interest in the seemingly endless possibilities of creative innovation. Through cutting-edge technology-driven exhibitions and experiences, ARTECHOUSE, a pioneer in the field of digital and experiential art, broadens the potential of art and how we experience it. To foster innovation and creativity at the nexus of art, science, and technology, they link progressive ideas, artists, and audiences.
Take a Sex and the City Tour
One of the most recognisable TV shows to feature New York City is Sex and the City, and this trip allows you to walk in the footsteps of your favourite characters. Visit famous film and television locations; go to the bars where Charlotte, Carrie, Miranda, and Samantha drank Cosmos and spoke about men; see the stores where they bought cupcakes and sex toys; and go to the stores they frequented in the shows and movies.
Visit Governors Island
There are events for people of all ages, including the renowned Governor's Ball. Go to Governors Island NYC if the weather is pleasant in New York City and you want to get away from the bustle of the city.
The history of Governors Island is extensive. The US Army used the 70-acre island as a base for many years, up to the 1960s. Older maps of New York do not include the island because it was regarded as a top-secret site. The military withdrew after the cold war. Unfortunately, the island was neglected more and more.
In order to turn the island into a recreational area, the federal government sold it to the City of New York in 2003 for a (very symbolic) $1. You can visit now and view all of the historic houses that have been preserved, the Fort Jay barracks, different schools, Castle Williams prison, a hospital, a church, old supermarkets, and an old theatre. Everything seems abandoned. There are many resting areas, green spaces, and a little miniature golf course designed for guests, inviting you to enjoy in the island.
Coby Club
Every name has a meaning. Chinatown in San Francisco, 1959. Coby Club honours the iconic artistry of its most well-known performer, Miss Coby Yee, by drawing inspiration from the most explosive and controversial era of San Francisco nightlife. Relive a bygone era when sensuous music filtered through sumptuous draperies and onto foggy streets, the night guarded your secrets, and the dawn's endless possibilities.
Live, impromptu performances take place every night between 9 and 11. Enjoy musical performances by jazz singers, Broadway actors, or burlesque acts that transport you to the 1950s.
