Lake Como

The wishbone-shaped lake is over 20 miles long, and is one of the deepest in Europe – its bed is more than 200 metres below sea level. Como is one of the most important towns of the area, and of course, gives its name to the Lake. The town contains lots of works of art, parks, museums, theatres, gardens and ancient buildings. Piazza Duomo, the Como-Brunate cable car and Spina Verde, a forest full of amazing panoramic views, of historical and natural interest plus of course plenty of restaurants and bars where you can taste the authentic Italian cuisine. It is the ideal starting point for day trips as it’s well connecting to Milan, Monza, Lecco, and Switzerland by car and by train; it is also not far from Malpensa International Airport.
Tremezzina
Tremezzina is located on the western banks of Lake Como, right in front of Bellagio, and is the result of a recent merger of the comunes of Lenno, Mezzegra, Ossuccio, and Tremezzo. You will be able to enjoy a place that is rich in atmosphere, history, and attractions. Films like Casino Royale and Star Wars’ scenes were also shot here. Tremezzina is a beautiful town,
thanks to its villas, gardens and wonderful views above the lake. The most important attractions are Villa Carlotta and Villa Balbianello but also the territory is rich of Romanesque churches and chapels. You can easily reach Tremezzina from Como, and it is close to Menaggio and the valley that brings you to Lugano and Switzerland.
Bellagio
Bellagio, one of the most beautiful places in the region of Lombardy, located at the maximum apex of Larian Triangle, is equally distant from Como and Lecco. It is known as “the Pearl of Lake Como”, thanks to its enchanting position, its majestic villas and gardens, picturesque hamlets and colourful stairways. Several famous people visited and lived here: Stendhal, Parini, Toscanini, and Liszt. The mild climate, the stunning views and the elegance of the town makes Bellagio one of a kind, it is imitated but never matched.
The pretty streets of Bellagio are so tiny, walking is the best way of getting around. These alley ways are also full of shops and restaurants… and stairs, so wear a pair of comfortable shoes and get ready to do a lot of ups and downs. In the town centre, you can walk to the Piazza della Chiesa and admire the Basilica of San Giacomo, a Romanesque church built between the 11th and 12th centuries as well as visit dozens of shops and boutiques where you can find local food, leather goods, clothing, perfumes, and much more.
