A CARIBBEAN WINTER

The Turks & Caicos Islands' main source of income now is high-end tourism. The islands provide a variety of lodging options, including huge all-inclusive resorts, peaceful inns, and opulent rental villas. The places to stay are complemented by a wide variety of eateries, tour and boat excursion operators, spas, and speciality stores.

Things to do

ISLAND HOPPING AND BEACH BBQ BOAT CHARTERS

A beach cruise is one of the most popular activities in Providenciales and is suitable for people of all ages. The iguanas of Little Water Cay, snorkelling areas, and the pristine beaches of Water Cay, Pine Cay, and Fort George Cay are frequently included in tours.

Lunch (sometimes a beach BBQ with fresh conch or lobster if in season) is frequently included for half-day and longer tours. It could be possible to gather your own conch for lunch when it's in season!

Although these cruises typically include snorkelling equipment, they rarely stop at the best reefs, unlike snorkeling-only cruises.

The majority of these trips pick up customers at the Grace Bay and Bight beaches in front of their resorts or offer free hotel pickup if your lodgings are elsewhere.

JET SKI TOURS

Jet Skiing

The crystal-clear seas of the Turks & Caicos Islands are a thrilling place to spend an afternoon riding jet skis and jet boats. Uninhabited cays, private beaches, shipwrecks, and stunning coastlines are just a few of the fantastic locations to explore.

There are a number of jet ski and waverunner rental and tour businesses on the island of Providenciales, some of which run right from the beach.

From Providenciales, a variety of attractions are easily accessible by jet ski, especially those off the island's southern shore.

One of the most well-known locations is the La Famille Express freighter wreck, which is located in the extremely shallow turquoise water off Long Bay Beach and was grounded by storms Hanna and Ike in 2008. Give kiteboarders a very wide berth since they frequently congregate in this region on windy days.

WHALE WATCHING

Humpback whale watching is excellent in Turks & Caicos. On Providenciales, whale watching is often a specialty charter activity that is only offered in the winter.

In the Turks & Caicos, aquatic marine mammals other than humpback whales can also be spotted. Year-round, sightings of Atlantic bottlenose dolphins, particularly the well-known Jojo the Dolphin, are frequent. The surrounding islands' beautiful blue ocean is home to pilot whales as well.

In general, Providenciales does not offer scheduled or special whale watching charters. The most frequent encounters take place on snorkelling and diving excursions to Sandbore Channel, West Caicos, and Northwest Point, like Big Blue Collective's extended Edge of the Banks snorkel safari.

E-FOIL SURFING LESSONS AND TOURS

E-foil Surfing

A brand-new and thrilling water activity called ELECTRIC FOIL SURFING, commonly referred to as e-foiling or jet boarding, combines features of kiteboarding and surfing but is considerably simpler to master and doesn't call for certain wind or wave conditions. Unlike some other water sports that require far more commitment, training, and practise, it is a sport that people of all ages can learn rapidly.

E-foils are miniature surfboards with electric motors and batteries that have hydrofoil wings on their masts that enable the rider to rise quicker above the water. The e-foil resembles a motorised stand-up paddleboard while moving slowly.

BARS, PUBS, & LOUNGES

Nightlife

There are many bars and lounges in PROVIDENCIALES. The majority of businesses can be found nearby, on the resort sites, or in the vicinity of Grace Bay Beach.

There are always active local places to be found even if The Turks and Caicos does not have the same nightlife and partying as many other Caribbean vacation spots.

Drink prices are greater here than in other nearby locations like the Dominican Republic, as is the case with many other items. A pint or a bottle of beer should cost no more than $8. Cocktails and mixed cocktails typically cost between $10 and $15. The cheapest option is usually the local Turk's Head beer.
