the Atomium

The Atomium is recognised internationally on an institutional, cultural, and artistic level due to its singular structure in the globe, its symbolic nature, and its strongly futuristic look. The Atomium is an image of a single iron crystal enlarged 165 billion times. There are nine spheres that stand in for atoms, and they are joined by tubes that have escalators and lifts. Each sphere is roughly the size of a huge dwelling (18m diameter). Not all Atomium spheres are accessible. The three outside spheres that are beneath the top one cannot be.

A permanent display regarding the 1958 world's fair and the Atomium building is located inside. A temporary exhibition that changes around once a year is also available, and for the year 2017, it focused on 20th-century luxury commercial aircraft.

There is a restaurant with a panoramic outlook on the top sphere. You can view all the way to the city of Antwerps through the telescopes in the top sphere,  even see its port and cathedral. From the bottom of the building, an elevator will take you to the Atomium restaurant.

Only escalators may be used to access the other four public spheres, which could be challenging for those with limited mobility.

A space designated for gatherings as well as a kids' sphere for school activities are also available. These, however, are not included in a typical tourist visit.
