DEC UKRAINE HUMANITARIAN APPEAL

Make a donation today. There are lives at risk

Ukraine is in a state of emergency; please help.

It's a tense, perilous, and upsetting period. People are fleeing their houses and becoming separated from their families as a result of ongoing violence.

Water, electricity, and phone service have all been disrupted in some regions. Many people are seeking refuge in basements and bomb shelters to avoid the shelling, but many are lacking in basic necessities such as food and water.

We must act now to defend individuals in Ukraine and its neighbouring countries who are caught up in this situation.

How will my donation help people in Ukraine?

Your gift will help people who are in desperate need, such as:

• Supporting hospitals and healthcare facilities by providing meals, first aid, clean water, shelter, warm clothing, hygiene packs, and medicines

• Assisting fire fighters and civil defence forces

• Educating people on how to save lives using life-saving first aid

• Assisting families in staying in touch

• Keeping relatives in touch

• Educating people about the dangers of explosives

• Maintaining critical infrastructure

• Assisting with the repair of houses, healthcare facilities, schools, and community centres

The Red Cross has been assisting those affected by the violence for many years and will continue to do so in the future.

The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), in collaboration with Red Cross National Societies from bordering countries, are striving to provide critical assistance to individuals affected by the crisis.

What is the Red Cross doing now to assist Ukrainians?

So far, Red Cross volunteers in Ukraine have handed over 30,000 food and hygiene packs, as well as food, warm clothing, and other necessities to over 8,000 persons seeking shelter in metro stations.

Over 2,000 people seeking shelter in metro stations and bomb shelters have received first-aid training so that they can treat their loved ones if necessary.

Your donation will help reach more people

A hygiene pack costing £10 could offer a month's worth of supplies for a household of five.

Families in need could get five blankets for £20.

For £33 you could get 40 chlorine tablets to ensure that your family has clean, safe water.

For £100, 66 people who have been displaced from their homes might receive sleeping mats.

A completely prepared first aid kit, including supplies, could be purchased for £210 and given to a first responder treating the injured.
