THE ROYAL TREATMENT IN MONACO

In this glamorous country, luxury is the name of the game. The Mediterranean Sea is dotted with yachts, and the streets are crowded with fast cars. There is no better location to unleash your inner gourmand than Monaco!

Monaco is located on the French Rivera, it is bounded on three sides by France and on the fourth by the Mediterranean Sea, and the Grimaldi family has governed it since 1297. It is a popular luxury holiday location around 18 miles east of Nice.

The Prince’s Palace of Monaco

The Prince’s Palace of Monaco

The Grimaldi family's official house in the Principality of Monaco is the Prince's Palace of Monaco. Some of the palace's chambers are open to the public.

The Monaco Rock, directly opposite to Monaco's Old Town, is home to the Prince's Palace (Palais du Prince). Only the impressive Place du Palais separates them, which overlooks the Port of Hercules on one side and the district of Fontvieille on the other. For nearly 700 years, the Prince's Palace has served as the formal residence of the Grimaldi family. Grace Kelly, the iconic Hollywood actress, stayed here following her marriage to Prince Rainier III. The palace is open to the public for many months of the year.

A ticket for an adult costs €10, while a €5 discount ticket is available for children aged 6-17 and students. You may also buy tickets that allow you to see both the palace and the Oceanographic Museum, as well as the palace and the Prince of Monaco's vehicle collection. These are slightly less expensive than purchasing the tickets for each attraction individually. A ticket to the palace may be purchased in the souvenir store on the west side of the plaza in front of the palace.

From April through mid-October, the Prince's Palace of Monaco is available to tourists every day between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., except in July and August, when it is open from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The car collection of the Prince of Monaco

The car collection of the Prince of Monaco

A hundred automobiles, many of which are vintage, may be found underneath one roof in Monaco. However, this is not a museum, but rather the Prince of Monaco's private car collection! This one-of-a-kind garage is available to the public and is a popular tourist destination.

The Prince of Monaco's Car Collection (l'Exposition de la Collection de Voitures de S.A.S. Le Prince Souverain de Monaco) is a private garage that has been made open to tourists. The majority of the displays are antiques and are undoubtedly valuable; nonetheless, when visiting this location, keep in mind that it is not a museum.

There are 100 cars housed here, the most of them are antiques, including some royal carriages. However, the most recent Formula 1 racing cars, a vintage gas-powered bicycle, and vehicles from decades ago can all be seen. All of this belonged to Albert II, Prince of Monaco, and was inherited from his father, Rainier III, a vehicle aficionado who founded the collection.

A 1928 Lincoln, a model T Ford from 1924, a De Dion-Bouton from 1903 (! ), a 1935 Packard, a 1953 Cadillac, and the 1956 Chrysler Imperial in which Grace Kelly rode from the port to the palace during her official welcome in Monaco are among the cars in the prince's garage, which more closely resembles a modern exhibition hall. There are also different Maserati, Jaguar, Rolls Royce, and Mercedes models. You may also appreciate the Lexus in which Prince Albert II and Charlene Wittstock arrived for their wedding, as well as the unusual BMW Isetta from 1960.

Admission is €10 for adults, €5 for children aged 6 to 17, and €5 for students. The collection is open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (last admission at 6 p.m.). The visit lasts around 30 minutes, and photography is permitted.
