VISIT THE SUNNIEST PLACE IN THE UK

On the southwest corner of England sits the county of Cornwall. It culminates in the promontory Land's End and creates a peninsula with natural moorland and several sandy beaches. Known as the Cornish Riviera, the south coast is home to charming harbour towns including Fowey and Falmouth.

Cornwall, situated in the far west of Great Britain on a peninsula that plunges into the wide Atlantic ocean, is encircled by a stunning coastline that stretches for about 300 miles. Land's End, one of the UK's most westerly points, and The Lizard, the most southerly peninsula in mainland Great Britain, are both in Cornwall. A few miles offshore and much farther west lies the Isles of Scilly archipelago of small islands.

Cornwall is well-known for many things, including its rugged coastline and alluring fishing harbours, breathtaking beaches, and pounding surf, which serve as a natural playground for a wide range of water sports. Of course, it's also famous for its pasties and cream teas.

Where to stay

B&B

A B&B in Cornwall greets you with open arms and a door that is wide open. There, adding a personal touch is expected.

You can be sure that guest homes in Cornwall, whether they are on the harbourside, nestled away in the countryside, or conveniently in town, come with a hefty dose of personality and Cornish character. They may be breathtakingly modern, delightfully classic, or anything in-between.

This ancient structure, which was originally the Doctors House and was built in 1839, is situated in its own gardens at the top of Boscastle. It takes only 15 minutes to stroll through the charming old village and down the hill to the harbour. The Beeny cliffs and the faraway sea are visible from Boscastle House's breathtaking panoramic views of the charming settlement.

For your comfort and convenience, the personally created and opulently sized rooms are all furnished with private bathrooms, bathrobes, and complimentary amenities. Additionally, there are complementary snack trays, flat-screen TVs, free Superfast WiFi, and hairdryers in each room.

The Manor is a hidden gem with a peaceful valley view that has been renovated into a welcoming haven for adults only with uniquely decorated rooms. The formal garden, the valley, and the lake are all gorgeously visible from all three bedrooms, and visitors enjoy unique access to a 13-acre nature reserve.

Leafy lanes that are ideal for strolling, off-road biking, and horseback riding encircle Cusgarne Manor. Routes through the neighbouring countryside may include historic mining landscapes or nearby taverns. They are also near to the Devoran to Portreath Coast to Coast Trail.

Polraen Country House

Three minutes' drive from Looe in South East Cornwall lies the award-winning bed and breakfast Polraen Country House, located in a former historic coaching inn. It's a great vacation location for Looe, Liskeard, and Polperro and excellent for stress-free travelling in Cornwall and Devon thanks to easy access from on-site parking and the convenience of bus and Looe Valley railway for visiting locally.

Guests enjoy expansive hotel-style amenities that go far beyond a B&B, such as a private onsite parking lot, guest lounge, fully licenced bar, conservatory, and large gardens. Enjoy a restful night's sleep in a double, super king/twin, or family room. At breakfast, savour the view of a rural garden while eating the best local vegetables.
