Slovenia, a land of contrasts, reveals its winter charm as the high peaks of Triglav National Park and the UNESCO heritage forests of Kocevje are draped in snow. Meanwhile, the lush green valleys of Brda's vineyards bask in the winter sun. The tour embraces the Slovenian winter, guiding participants to explore the picturesque shores of Bohinj Lake in the Julian Alps using snowshoes or mini crampons. A magical night awaits at a refuge on Komna.

The winter experience in Slovenia reaches its pinnacle with a visit to the stunning Kocevje region. Accompanied by a local wildlife guide, participants delve into the secrets of wolves and bears inhabiting the pristine forests. Depending on snow levels, the journey may involve snowshoeing to track wolves or engaging in winter walks amidst the untouched Rajhenavski Rog forest, leading to the awe-inspiring 55m tall Queen of Rog fir tree, standing tall for over 500 years. Getting around

A native English-speaking Slovenian guide who is certified to lead hikers in the mountains and is intimately familiar with the region's history and customs will accompany you on your vacation, guaranteeing that you are in capable hands and have access to insider information. A wildlife guide will accompany you on your Kocevje woods walk.

During Day 1, travellers arriving in Ljubljana will settle into a well-located 3/4-star hotel for a two-night stay. The evening is free for personal exploration or relaxation.

Day 2 includes a leisurely walking tour of Ljubljana, exploring sites along the Ljubljanica River and enjoying the scenic Tivoli Park. The day concludes with dinner at the 3-star hotel.

On Day 3, the journey heads to the Julian Alps, specifically the lakeside town of Bohinj, known for its pristine blue-green glacial lake. After checking into a 4-star hotel, adventurers embark on a 3-hour snowshoeing excursion, guided by experienced professionals.

Day 4 involves a hike to Mt Vogar and Savica Waterfall, offering breathtaking views. The day concludes with another night in Bohinj.

Day 5 brings an adventure within an adventure as the group spends a night at Dom na Komni mountain refuge, situated above the snowline. After a 3-hour hike, participants enjoy the serenity of the refuge, nestled among the majestic peaks.

On Day 6, the journey returns to Bohinj and then heads to the Brda region, making a stop at Sabotin Hill Peace Park for stunning views. The afternoon includes wine tasting at a local vineyard, with the night spent in a picturesque village surrounded by vineyards.

Day 7 explores the Karst plateau region, featuring Prosciutto tasting, a hike to Kokoska Hill, and a visit to the UNESCO heritage Skocjan Caves. The night is spent in the small town of Lokev.

Day 8 takes the group from the Karst area to the mystical forest landscapes of Kocevje, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Activities include wolf tracking and exploring the conservation efforts in the region. Accommodation for the night is provided in Kocevje.

The adventure concludes on Day 9 with a transfer back to Ljubljana airport for departures. Independent airport transfers are available for those arriving outside of the group transfer.
